“W.T.F.” sums it up perfectly. I just can’t understand what McD is thinking.

I am not sure why everyone is shocked about Tim Tebow. I mean think about it. He and Josh McDaniels met with each other twice in the five days leading up to the draft and It was pretty apparent to me that if left on the board Minnesota or Buffalo were going to take their shot at Mr. Tebow.

Also for the past 15 months Josh McDaniels has been preaching about character and integrity… You didn’t believe him when he shipped Jay Cutler out? You didn’t believe him when he benched Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler during a must win game? You didn’t believe him when he traded those same guys away? Maybe you believe him now because we got the biggest character guy in the draft.

My draft analysis is simple… Tim Tebow is one of the best leaders I’ve ever seen in college sports period. He has a lot of the intagibles you just can’t coach. He’s a football coaches wet dream. He’s big, strong and fast. He broke the combine records for quarterbacks with his shuttle drill and vertical jump. I’m just not sure he can become a great passer in the NFL. And yes I said ‘great’, because that’s what we expect.

David, i agree with you in the fact that Tebow has a lot of intangibles, and he may someday surprise us all and be a decent NFL QB. However, the problem I have is trading three picks to jump back into the first round to grab him. We had a top ten second round draft pick and he would have still been there.

This is two drafts in a row where JMcD has traded too many picks to move up and and grab players that would have still been there (see Alphonso Smith). Additionally, we now have to Tebow first round money as opposed to second round, which is a big difference. This was a poor football and business move. I have said it multiple times - the Broncos need a strong GM to put the reins of JMcD.

Rhys there is no denying that Alphonso Smith was a bad move last season. However, I also think it was pretty obvious that Tebow was Bill’s guy too. All signs pointed to it and he wasn’t getting past them in the second. I also think there was a real possibility of Minnesota rolling the dice at 30 for Tim Tebow… The bottom line is he was the Denver Broncos’ guy and they were going to go get him at any cost. Now let’s see what they can do with him.
