Plus I think we proved on Sunday we don't need BMARSH. Pretty sure Jabar Gaffney put up some staggering numbers and I'm not even sure Brandon's game in Indianapolis was that prolific. Wide Receiver was not the issue against Kansas City. It was INT's and poor defensive play.

And again Drew if your best player is a guy who takes plays... and even games off I think it's time to move in a different direction. I mean BMARSH got hit once in Philidelphia and all of sudden he was scared to catch the ball??? And he wants more money???? Kyle Orton had a rough game against Kansas City as far as his INT's are concerned but at least he played hard.

Also I'm not so sure we should be excited about a 'best' player who won't practice a little hurt during a must win week after the performance he had in Phili (and don't give me the response 'nobody knows how Brandon feels?' The MRI was negative it wasn't that bad). Everyone gets so wrapped up in big personalities at the wide receiver position but you know what for me I'll take guys like Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne, Santonio Holmes etc..etc.. You know guys who just get it done with their play rather than their mouths.... Maybe we need to look back at year's pasts when success was abundant in Denver. Elway under center and he looks right and there's Rod Smith and then he looks left to see Ed McCaffrey... I don't know about you but I miss the class acts that used to play wide receiver in Denver. The only thing we are missing is a respected leader like Elway who certainly wouldn't let BMARSH's antics onto his team. They don't call him 'Baby T.O.' for nothing...

Drew I'm not sure I agree with how JMAC handled the Brandon Marshall issue... However, I am also not sure that BMARSH is our best player. I think JMAC was dissapointed in the way Brandon played in Philidelphia and that played into the benching after the phantom hamstring pull. I mean Drew if you watch the Philidelphia game and you're going to tell me BMARSH is our best player then you know what??? It's time to find a new best player because that's not going to get it done. I also don't think Ocho Cinco is a good moodel player we should be looking at. I mean look at T.O... extremely talented but he isn't a winner because he's a cancer to his team. Marshall has 2 routes to go in this league... One is T.O. and he can play in Buffalo one day too....Or he could change his act and become a guy like Randy Moss.

As far as the team is concerned I think JMAC had this team over achieving for much of the season. I mean the last half of the season we were exposed for a team who doesn't block very well and doesn't tackle very well. The defensive line has vertually no talent on it and I think the offensive line was crumbling inside of the tackles.

As I said before we have a new coach and we're just going to have to accept that the Denver Broncos are re-building. I mean Drew if the Denver Broncos make the playoffs this year do they have any shot to beat teams like Indianapolis or San Diego on the road?? The answer is emphatically NO!!! We are a mediocre team that can't compete for Super Bowls. It's time to blow it up and selfish players like Brandon Marshall need to change or get out. As far as JMAC he has 1 maybe 2 more years depending on his quarterback decisions to make this thing work otherwise he will be gone as he should be.

From the outside looking in, benching Marshall looks stupid, but we don't know full extent of what was going on so I'm not going to totally crucify McD for that.

And while it's true that 8-8 is a decent finish from where I thought we'd be going into week one, I'm not about to say I'm pleased with it.

McD needs to learn how to turn things around after losing. Following a loss, we were 1-6 this season.

Do your really think when you are in a must win you should not play your best player Dave? Would Favre be benched for personality issues with the game on the line, Ocho-Cinco pulled from big game, hell they would have let Larry Johnson pass Priest Holmes as all time rusher in K.C. if they had a shot in an important game. Isn't it the coaches job to temper the locker room and keep the team focused or god forbid bounce back from a loss Dave? If it takes a veteran player calling a players only meeting to get the team focused maybe Brian Dawkins should be our skipper.

Drew... Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. If I would have told you this team was going to be 8-8 at the beginning of the season you would have told me I was crazy. And if you thought we were going to be 8-8 I hope you went to Vegas and made some money for yourself because the line opened at over and under 6 games.

Anyway, as far as Marshall is concerned I think we proved that we could play offense without him and after his horrible game in Phili where he killed drive after drive with dropped balls I didn't miss him. If we can get a 1st and a 3rd for him then we should definately take it (even though I don't think we will because he is a head case). He's a talented guy with a few screws loose. And the news on Sheffler is he was heard saying he couldn't wait until the season was over...Are you kidding me??? The team is trying to make a playoff run and you can't wait for the season to be over??? No wonder we didn't make the playoffs with that attitude. I'm glad JMAC sent him home.

I also agree that JMAC needs to grow up as a coach but at the end of the day we all just have to concede that we are re-building. JMAC needs to get his team in there and our problems at defensive line could not be covered up late in the season as everyone ran wild on us. Orton also did his best impression of Jay Cutler on Sunday throwing 4 picks, 2 going for TD's... We can't blame JMAC for that.

I hope we re-sign Orton for one year and name our future franchise quaterback by the end of the draft. Then I hope we adress our defensive line and linebacker holes to stop the run. Rolando McClain is looking better and better in that first round... and if we dump Marshall maybe Mallet from Arkansas will fall into our laps.

Hey Guys, I posted this on my FB page, but figured I'd share it with you here as well.

ONE FAN'S MCDANIELS MUSINGS

I admittedly HATED this hiring from day one. I am not a Belichick fan (despite his success, I find the way he goes about it a giant turnoff, and figured wed be getting a cheap knock off if we hired someone from his coaching tree) I wanted Leslie Frazier/Steve Spagnuolo to get the job. Then McJaygate happened, which in retrospect MAY (repeat: MAY work out. I think once Cutler gets some help [better OLine, WR, offensive coordinating) He will be an elite QB, as much as I hate to say it. Orton did a fine job this year but he CANT stretch the field, and once teams figured that out they struggled in the second half of the season. He started to panic in the KC game and we saw how that turned out. They got the miracle win Week 1 which sparked them to a nice 6-0 start. I even loved seeing how firey McD was after the NE win, the first time I started to accept him as my coach. The developments of the last week have thrown be back to my initial feelings on him. I am abhorred by how he handed the Scheffler situation: From what I read it sounds like McD overreacted, and instead of calling Tony in for a meeting to work out their differences before a HUGE game, he blindly suspends him, then throws Marshall under the bus w/ the injury stuff. I think the PLAYER would have a better idea of if he can go or not, and given the misdiagnosis from last season Marshall has grounds to be skeptical of their findings. It struck me as sophomoric & NOT the way that situation should be handled. The other players look at that and think, "I can't say anything about how I'm feeling, even to OTHER PLAYERS cuz it will get back to McD & Ill get suspended, so lets all walk on eggshells this week as we are obviously collapsing" He choked this year away WORSE than Shanny did last year, in my opinion. At least Mike went into battle with his best guys on the field. I think they were beat before they even stepped onto the field with the "Leader" flaunting such boorish behavior towards his own guys. I found myself cheering AGAINST Denver, because I didn't want to see "big brother" leadership rewarded with a valient 'lets save our season' effort. He got what he deserved, IMO. How can you inspire your guys to kill themselves for you when you'll willingly bench our most talented guys over an ego driven hissy fit. This guys ego is completely out of control, and I am considering becoming a Houston Texans fan (During the NYJ pasting of Cincy, they briefly talked to Texans QB Matt Schaub, who had effusive praise for his coach, former Bronco Gary Kubiak) until McD is dismissed. I can't imagine any Bronco uttering similar sentiments about McDaniels given how the season ended.
